2014/03 SMARTER Task Force Genetics startup meeting in Dijon

Dijon INRA buildingPopulation geneticists of four different countries gathered at the INRA-UMR Agroécologie in Dijon, France, on the 17 March 2014 to strengthen collaborations between European groups in SMARTER. Participants present were: Romain Causse, Bruno Chauvel, Christophe Délye, Valérie Le Corre and Quentin Martinez from INRA in Dijon (France), Gerhard Karrer, Matthias Kropf and Harald Meimberg from BOKU in Vienna (Austria), Anna-Karin Kolseth and Romain Scalone from SLU in Uppsala (Sweden) and Janos Taller from Georgikon Faculty (Hungary). Each research group presented information about their previous, actual and future research programs involving population genetics approaches on annual Ambrosia species and the potential for establishing standard protocols of seed and leaf samplings in population genetic studies were discussed. Furthermore, the attendants exchanged ideas on potential collaborations on population genetics and will present the results of their discussions during the 4th International Symposium on Weeds and Invasive Plants in Montpellier (May 2014) by a poster entitled “Population Genetics on Ambrosia genus: Past, present and future” (Download Poster as PDF 500 kB).
